The reason we came up with this design is because, Native Americans/Indigenous/First Nations people have some of the highest disparities when it comes to our overall health with things such as, hypertension, cardiac health, diabetes, mental health, suicide rates, and access to resources etc. So 'Align' means that when you life is in sync or harmony there is an alignment from your mind to your body, head to your heart, or your will to intent etc. You can see the design goes from your head down the spine for the mind-body connection.
So, we created Align, as a symbol to show that anything you do can be beneficial to your health whether it pertained to your mental, emotional, physical, or spiritual. No matter how small, as long as you take the first step, whether that be; learn one word in your language, recite positive affirmations, play ball, run, attend your medical check up, eat something beneficial, or smudge to start your day. It matters not how big but make the commitment to take the first step in being your own medicine!
